Something To Be Celebrated

Camielle's Story

At 16 years old, Camille found out she was pregnant.

Her parents coerced her into getting an abortion.
One year later, Camille discovered she was expecting again. She knew she wanted to keep and protect her baby, so she sought help through the Pregnancy Center.

“During my first visit, they told me the due date of the
baby, and it was the same due date as the baby that I had lost…for me, that was a destiny moment. I knew I couldn’t let the same thing happen again. I had to protect my baby.”

The Pregnancy Center staff helped to advocate for
Camille and her unborn child. Through their love and support, Camille felt free to choose life for her child.

“It felt like my baby was something to celebrate,
not something to be ashamed of. It was very empowering to feel like I had this support network that would be there to help me in whatever way they could.”

Camille’s choice left her cut off from family support.
The Pregnancy Center staff stepped in to provide Camille with the help she needed.

“It was really hard to lose connection with my entire
family, but now I have a family of my own. The Pregnancy Center and the people there are the key reasons I was able to push forward and have the courage I needed to keep Sawyer safe. I have a purpose for everything. I have a reason to keep going – for him and our family.”
